(i) Functional Surfaces: HRBio specializes in providing solutions for functional surfaces in life science and biotechnology (diagnostics, biosensors, MEMS, and many more).
HRBio has developed a proprietary surface engineering process to create functional surfaces. This process is highly adaptive in that (1) it is applicable to universal materials and biological interfaces, and (2) most aspects of surface properties can be tailored to meet your specific applications. Below is a list of surface properties that you can choose from:
(1) Nonfouling: guaranteed zero nonspecific adsorption (the detection limit of SPR, i.e., 1 ng cm-2) even from complex biological milieu such as serum or cell lysate. This feature not only enhances the signal/noise ratio but also saves time by omitting the need of pre-purification.
(2) Highly hydrated environment: this feature ensures the reservation of your probe’s natural biological functionality.
(3) Type of functional groups: amine (-NH2), carboxyl (-COOH), alcohol (-OH), aldehyde (-CHO), fluorocarbon (-CF2CF3) and chelater OTS functional groups for site specific and chemoselective binding. In principle, any functional group can be introduced with or without protection groups. If you don’t find what you want here, just let us know. HRBio will expand our tool box of functional groups for you!
(4) Density of functional group: a high degree of control over the density of those functional groups allows you to control the loading density of probe.
(5) Thickness: we can control thickness in a step of nanometers in a range of 1 to 200 nm. This feature combined with density control provides the overall control of loading density of probes.
(6) Spatial control: patterned localization can be customer made, features as small as 1 microns and gradients of chemistry.
(7) Uniformity and stability: extended insurance of high quality data production. Our surfaces are inherently homogeneous and conformal on all substrates. Surfaces can withstand washing with buffers and solvents, and require no special storage conditions.
We deliver those innovative surfaces to our customer for the need of immobilizing their unique probes (small molecules, peptides, aptamers, carbon hydrates, proteins, cells, and tissues) on sample platforms for analytical instrumentation (SPR chips, microarrays, Lab-on-chip, MEMS, and many more).
